THE festive spirit remains upbeat in the capital as the celebration held in conjunction with the Royal Wedding continued last night.
Various spectacular performances took place showcasing cultural arts and literature that gathered people from all ages and walks of life.
At the Royal Wharf, the public were enthralled by the divine tune ofsyair organised by the Language and Literature Bureau for the “Adai Adainya Laila Cinta Syair” performance to appreciate and acknowledge those who have taken part in the Adai Adainya Syair competition held last February to March.
Presenting the prizes was Permanent Secretary at Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Paduka Dr Hj Affendy Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Hj Abidin. The Director of Language and Literature Bureau, Hjh Aminah Hj Momin, was also among the invited guests.
Among the 16 entries received, the top three syair from the finalists were recited along with various performances.
Meanwhile, the joyful vibes were also prominent at the car park in front of the Royal Regalia as the Information Department presented a pentarama (cultural and sketch) performance that captivated the crowd with emotion.
The event was a collaboration with local thearetical group Brunei Arts Enthusiasts Association (PESTAB) who featured colourful performances and sketch acts.
Present as the guest of honour was Legislative Council member Yang Berhormat Hj Jumat Akim, along with Acting Director of Information Department Mawardi Hj Mohammad and Acting Deputy Director Hjh Noorashidah Hj Aliomar.
The night was also enlivened with a bazaar selling various snacks and refreshments. The perayaan in the capital will conclude tonight.
