Religious performances enliven Bandar

Wednesday, April 8, 2015

THE vicinity of the Royal Wharf at the capital last night resonated with the melodious rhythm of religious performances.

Hosted by the Higher Education Institution, performances by students from Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Institut Teknologi Brunei (ITB), Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College (KUPU SB) and Politeknik Brunei captivated the audiences with their rendition of verses from the Al-Quran.

This ranged from TausyehQasidah, Rawi to Nasyid, which were in line with the theme Keluarga Sakinah (Harmonious Family) in conjunction with the Royal wedding between His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik and Dk Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah Pg Hj Bolkiah.

Among those present at the event was the guest of honour, Deputy Vice Chancellor of UBD, Associate Professor Dr Azman Hj Ahmad, who opened the event.

The cultural performance is a part of a week-long celebration to commemorate the Royal Wedding, which is held from April 6 to April 14.
