THE Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (YSHHB) yesterday held a thanksgiving prayer ceremony to seek blessings for the royal newlyweds.​

Twenty-five medical personnel and 16 support staff were on duty at the Majlis Istiadat Menghantar dan Menerima Tanda Diraja or engagement ceremony yesterday to handle any emergencies and provide assistance to guests with mobility issues.

IT WAS an upbeat evening at the car park in front of the Royal Regalia building in the capital yesterday as three cultures showcased their heritage through performances as part of a week-long celebration to commemorate the royal wedding between His Royal Highness Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik and Dk Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah Pg Hj Bolkiah.

  

HIS Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik is officially engaged to Dk Raabi'atul Adawiyah Pg Hj Bolkiah after she accepted the pre-engagement gifts presented to her family's representative during the Majlis Istiadat Menghantar Tanda Diraja and Pertunangan Diraja.

  

ABOUT 100 members of the public gathered at the Royal Wharf to celebrate the royal wedding through religious and cultural performances organised by villages in the Brunei-Muara district.​

  

THE royal orchestra's music filled the Lapau or royal ceremonial hall in the heart of the capital yesterday to mark the start of wedding celebrations.​

  

SOUNDS of dikir (chants and praises for Allah SWT) reverberated at Istana Nurul Iman as families and guests of the royal couple attended the first Istiadat Berjaga-Jaga or night of vigil.​

  

HIS Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, yesterday officially started his son's Royal wedding proceedings with the Istiadat Bersuruh Diraja, or Royal marriage proposal ceremony.

The monarch dispatched a Royal entourage to Pg Hj Bolkiah Pg Hj Jaluddin's house to ask for Dk Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah Pg Hj Bolkiah's hand in marriage, on behalf of His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik.

THE Royal wedding of His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik with Dk Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah Pg Hj Bolkiah starts today with the Majlis Istiadat Bersuruh Diraja or Royal marriage proposal ceremony.

A delegation from the groom will be visiting the bride’s family to declare the 31-year-old prince’s intention to marry 22-year-old Dk Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah.

The Royal marriage proposal ceremony will begin at Istana Nurul Iman before heading to the bride’s residence at Darul Fadhl on Jalan Permaisuara.

The wedding will take place over 11 days. Meanwhile, the Media Secretariat Committee on Publication and Information said 96 journalists are expected to cover the wedding, including 21 from other countries.​



  

The Prime Minister's Office hereby informs that citizens and residents of Brunei Darussalam have to hoist the national flag in conjunction with the Royal Wedding Ceremony of His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah and Yang Mulia Dayangku Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah binti Pengiran Haji Bolkiah.

The flags must be hoisted as of Monday, 16th Jamadilakhir 1436 Hijrah corresponding to 6th of April 2015 until Wednesday, 25th Jamadilakhir 1436 Hijrah corresponding to 15th of April 2015. People with the title of Pengiran must hoist their personal flags and people bestowed with titles must hoist their respective flags and the Brunei Darussalam national flag must be hoisted by the public and at the respective Ministry and Government Department buildings.


  

ABOUT 200 local and foreign journalists are expected to cover the royal wedding between His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and Dayangku Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah Pengiran Hj Bolkiah in April.

The royal wedding’s Media Secretariat Committee on Publication and Information announced this, as preparations are under way for the wedding of His Majesty Sultan Hj Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah’s third son, HRH Prince ‘Abdul Malik.

By command of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mui’zzaddin Waddaulah, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, a high-level committee for the Royal wedding between His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and Dayangku Raabi’atul ‘Adawiyyah Pengiran Haji Bolkiah, was convened yesterday at the Department of Adat Istiadat Negara.​
